Account Executive - Martinsburg, WV

WVRC Media is looking for another sales expert to join our growing team! It’s a unique opportunity for an aggressive, confident and competitive marketing professional to represent and sell broadcast and digital marketing products and services in the Martinsburg, WV/Eastern Panhandle region of WV. Specific products include advertising and marketing products with WLTF(97.5FM), WICL(95.9 The Big Dawg), WXDC(COOL 92.9FM), WEPM(93.7FM/1340AM), and WCST(93.5FM/1010AM) radio stations and WVRC Digital’s enormous suite of digital products. A background of success in the sales and marketing, advertising or communication fields is preferred. 

Main duties include handling an established list of customers, establishing and developing new long-term business relationships; identifying and securing new business opportunities; presenting campaign proposals; generating creative ideas and solutions; tracking and reporting on business successes.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide advertising and marketing solutions for clients that achieve their objectives, increase business and foster strong working relationships, 
  • Seek out prospective customer/business opportunities with new and existing customers, 
  • Establish and maintain customer relations in order to grow profitable sales, 
  • Present products and services of WVRC Media including radio and digital marketing options, 
  • Follow-up on all generated business to assure customer is being serviced and to document the outcome of the proposed solutions. 

 Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is desirable. 
  • Prior media sales experience is an advantage, but not necessary. 
  • Must have reliable transportation. 
  • Must present and communicate in a professional manner. 
  • Can ‘talk to anyone’.  
  • Must be organized with good time management skills. 
  • Possess proven analytical problem solving solutions for the customer and the company. 
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications. 
  • Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.

Part-Time Media Operations & Production Specialist – WVRC Media, Morgantown

Here at WVRC Digital, we strive to bring a best-in-class news, talk, and live sports experience to our dedicated users throughout West Virginia. With the launch of MetroNews Television, our digital OTT platform, we’re bringing communities closer together by delivering compelling breaking news stories and acclaimed shows like “Talkline,” “Sportsline,” “3 Guys Before the Game,” and “High School GameNight.” We’re also expanding our live high school sports coverage and are actively seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Media Operations and Production Specialist.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about media production to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the production of live and recorded content for our digital platform, MetroNews Television. Please note that this is a part-time position, and hours of operation may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Live Production: Operate a NewTek TriCaster to produce in-studio programs, including switching cameras, managing audio, and integrating graphics.
  • Post-Production: Edit full show archives, create compelling segments, and produce short clips for distribution on social media and MetroNews Television.
  • Training: Actively participate in training sessions to master existing live show production workflows and learn new skills.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the Director of Content, show talent, and other team members via email and phone.
  • Social Media: Post content to social media platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with studio systems such as NewTek TriCaster, Vimeo, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and robotic camera systems (training provided).
  • Knowledge and experience in live streaming and digital media production.
  • Proficiency in PC/Mac computer editing software programs (Premiere Pro & Final Cut Pro X).
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make real-time decisions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma required; college degree preferred.

Engineer - Charleston, WV

WVRC Media has a rare position for an Engineer to join, train, and work with one of the best engineering and highly skilled I.T. staffs in the country.  This can be the perfect opportunity for the next generation of broadcast engineers, seeking to learn and advance as an I.T. and RF specialist.  We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual that would have a burning desire to learn 21st century digital audio delivery systems from studio to final air product.  Candidate should be able and willing to perform the following functions and duties:

* Serve as designated Chief Operator by maintaining accurate transmission and maintenance logs and operate within established FCC guidelines and rules.

* Possess a working knowledge of the Emergency Alert System.

* Be proficient with computers, networking, and programming of such.

* Demonstrate an immediate sense of urgency during emergency situations.

* Maintain all transmitter sites and associated facilities.

* Possess a working knowledge of basic electronic theory and troubleshooting.

* Must be willing to learn new skills and procedures by working with our trained staff, reading technical manuals, and updated bulletins and periodicals.

* Oversee the daily operation of the entire broadcast plant to ensure delivery of a quality product to the listeners and advertisers.

* Maintain constant communications with programming, sales, and management personnel.

* Any SBE certification and I.T. experience is highly desirable. 

Candidate will be based in the Charleston, WV market.
